We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the Honourable Judith Keating, Q.C., senator for New Brunswick. Ms. Keating was an accomplished legal expert, having served in a variety of roles in public service throughout her career. Before being appointed to the Senate of Canada, Ms. Keating was the Chair of the Financial and Consumer Services Tribunal from November 3, 2016 to January 31, 2020.
We will remember Senator Keating for her tireless promotion of access to justice, language equality and reconciliation with First Nations people. She will also be remembered for her joie de vivre and love of music.
On behalf of the Tribunal Members and Staff, I offer our deepest condolences to Ms. Keating’s spouse, Micheal, her children, Mathieu and Stéphanie, her grandchildren, as well as her friends and colleagues.
